Balance Sheet
What is a Balance Sheet?
Your Balance Sheet is a comprehensive financial statement that tracks everything you own (assets), everything you owe (liabilities), your income sources, expenses, net worth, and cashflow. It's the foundation of your financial empire in Vengeful Survival: Story game.
Components of Your Balance Sheet
Assets
Assets are things you own that have value:
- Properties: Land, residential buildings, commercial buildings
- Investments: Stocks, startup investments, crypto holdings
- Cash: Bank balance and farm account balance
- Business Assets: Farms, equipment, inventory
Assets increase your net worth and can generate income.
Liabilities
Liabilities are debts and obligations you owe:
- Loans: Bank loans with interest rates
- Mortgages: Property financing
- Other Debts: Any money you owe
Liabilities decrease your net worth and require regular payments.
Income
Income sources generate money regularly:
- Job Salary: Monthly income from employment
- Rental Income: Monthly rent from properties
- Investment Returns: Dividends, startup exits
- Farm Income: Sales from farm products
- Passive Income: Any recurring income source
Income is tracked per hour and monthly totals.
Expenses
Expenses are costs that reduce your cashflow:
- Recurring Expenses: Cannot be paid off, affect cashflow (e.g., rent, utilities)
- One-Time Expenses: Single payments
- Loan Payments: Monthly loan installments
- Manager Salaries: Farm and property manager costs
- Maintenance Costs: Property and farm upkeep
Recurring Expenses: These are marked with an `isRecurring` flag and cannot be paid off. They're removed through events (e.g., "kids are grown" removes child expenses).
